Global partnership program

In an effort to enhance the effectiveness of investment promotion in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town or BDA), and to attract more foreign investment and expand the actual utilization of foreign investment in the region, the BDA has initiated a collaboration with prominent business associations focusing on attracting more foreign enterprises.

Five esteemed business association institutions have been chosen for this collaboration: the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China), the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), the German Chamber of Commerce in China, Cushman & Wakefield, and the Beijing Promotion Association for International Trade (CCPIT Beijing).

●   American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China)

The American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) is a non-partisan, non-governmental, and non-profit organization aimed at promoting economic and trade relations between the United States and China. It is officially registered as a foreign chamber of commerce in China and is licensed by China’s government to represent American businesses in mainland China.

Established in 1919, the chamber provides a wide range of services to its member companies, including advocacy, networking, insights, and business support services. Presently, the chamber boasts over 3,800 members, representing more than 1,000 American companies investing in China. The members comprise multinational corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises, and private companies, with a majority being large multinational enterprises primarily involved in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and modern services. The chamber also has 26 industry and cross-industry issue working groups, which involve top executives from well-known enterprises in various sectors and regularly conduct thematic activities.

●   China-Britain Business Council (CBBC)

The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) is the UK’s national business network promoting trade and investment with China, established in 1953 as the 48 Group Club. It operates as a customer-centric non-profit organization. With over 1,000 member companies, nine industry teams, and more than 130 experts from China and the UK, the CBBC has 13 offices in China and 11 in the UK, providing professional advice to various partners. As a partner of the UK government, the CBBC represents the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and provides Overseas Market Introduction Services (OMIS).

In 2018, as the official British trade promotion association, the CBBC assisted UK businesses in generating £720 million in exports to China. It offers business advice, market entry support, and industry-specific events to those newly entering the Chinese market and those already operating in China.

The association provides a comprehensive range of services for UK companies interested in exporting products and services to China, investing in China, or establishing partnerships with Chinese companies. These services include market research, incubator and representative office setup, the organization of trade delegations and exhibitions, event management, and translation services. The CBBC also creates platforms for direct engagement between UK companies and the region, fostering opportunities to attract foreign direct investment.

●   German Chamber of Commerce in China

The German Chamber of Commerce in China is the official member organization  representing German companies doing business in China. The German Chamber helps its members succeed by providing up-to-date market information and practical advice. It offers a platform for the Sino-German business community and advocates for the interests of its members with various stakeholders, including government and public entities. The Chamber was founded in 1999 and currently has more than 2,100 members in China.

●   Cushman & Wakefield

Cushman & Wakefield is the largest and most established real estate consultancy firm in Greater China. It  proactively partners with local governments to provide investment consultancy, offer recommendations for project implementation, and facilitate enterprise investment and financing connections. In December 2022, it was honored with the title of "Invest Beijing Global Partner" .

●   China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing)

Founded in 1978, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council (CCPIT Beijing) is a public service organization that aims to promote international trade and investment in Beijing. It is an important link among individuals, enterprises and groups in economic and trade communities and a crucial bridge that connects domestic and foreign business communities for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.

By promoting international trade and investment, offering international commercial legal services, facilitating the international convention & exhibition industry, establishing multilateral and bilateral mechanisms for international economic and trade cooperation, and developing an application-oriented think tank, CCPIT Beijing has strengthened the bond of interests between Chinese and foreign businesses, advanced international economic and trade exchanges, contributed to the "five key initiatives", facilitated its integration into the new development paradigm, and elevated Beijing's openness to a higher standard.

The main responsibilities of CCPIT Beijing include international economic and trade policy research and information consultation; the planning and organizing of major international economic and trade events; international trade promotion; international investment promotion; legal services for international commerce; conducting bilateral and multilateral international business cooperation; promoting the exhibition industry; constructing the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce; and expanding trade promotion networks.

The BDA has signed relevant cooperation agreements with these five institutions, leveraging their expertise and resources in their respective fields. The collaboration spans global activities, including information sharing, promotion and publicity, event support, project matchmaking, and professional services, with the aim of further enhancing the BDA's investment attraction efforts.
