The Beijing E-Town Administrative Committee signed agreements with 16 key projects including the World Robot Cooperation Organization, Xiaomi Robot, Great Robotics, HURWA, and others. The signing ceremony happened during the Cooperation Night event held on Aug 17 at the 2023 World Robot Conference.

As a platform that bridges academic research and industrial application in the field of robotics, the World Robot Cooperation Organization serves as a global indicator for technological innovation and industry development in robotics.

The organization will establish an international technological innovation platform in Beijing E-Town, host international robotics field technology innovation seminars, and create a club for robotics scientists and an expert committee in relevant fields.

Additionally, it will set up an international standard development and testing platform, promote the internationalization of group standards in the robotics field, and establish an international industrial service and consulting platform to release global robotics technology industry reports, provide robotics industry think tank consultations, and offer project evaluation services.

Furthermore, as the main hub of advanced industries in Beijing, Beijing E-Town has attracted seven key industrial projects including humanoid robots and medical robots to invest or increase investments, with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan ($478.6 million).

Beyond industrial projects, Beijing E-Town's State-owned investment and financing platform, E-Town Capital, signed agreements with eight enterprises to support the innovative development of companies.

Officials from Beijing E-Town explained that the establishment of the World Robot Cooperation Organization will contribute to innovation research and development, entrepreneurial incubation, and two-way technology transfer.

It will attract international talents, technology, and capital elements to the regional robotics industry cluster, and accelerate the internationalization of its capabilities through the global perspective advantage of international organizations. The realization of key industrial projects implies the gathering of more high-tech resources and further improvement of the robotics industry chain.

As the permanent venue for the World Robot Conference, Beijing E-Town has established four dominant industries: next-generation information technology, new energy vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles, biotechnology and health, and robotics and intelligent manufacturing.

In 2022, the robotics and intelligent manufacturing industry achieved an output value of 68.04 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 21.5 percent, accounting for nearly 24 percent of the city's total.
