Fortune Global 500 companies have congregated in the area, leading the international charge and bolstering a multitude of industries. This has resulted in an industrial output value growth rate that surpasses the average level of Beijing municipality.

The area boasts Schneider's world's largest single factory, SMC's largest R&D center in Asia, Bosch Rexroth's lighthouse factory, and Samson's largest global factory. It hosts the world's top three wind turbine manufacturers and the largest rooftop photovoltaic enterprise in China. It has also enriched China's solid rocket family and witnessed the first private aerospace company to launch multiple satellites with a single rocket. Additionally, it has pioneered the use of liquid oxygen-methane engines in rocketry.
