At a press conference held on May 22, Beijing E-Town presented its interim progress report on the "Two Zones" construction.
From January to April, E-Town ranked first in Beijing for the estimated investment of foreign-funded projects in the "Two Zones" Construction.
This February, Mondelez Beijing Food Co, which has been recognized as the "Lighthouse Factory", made new investments to build an intelligent warehousing center in E-Town.
By the end of April, Steinbeis's technical management headquarters had begun operations in E-Town.
Currently, the industrial output value of foreign-invested enterprises in the area accounts for about 70 percent of the total industrial output value of the entire region.
In E-Town, 102 Fortune Global 500 companies have invested in 157 projects, with a total investment exceeding $100 billion.
Additionally, at the beginning of this year, E-Town took the lead in the city by issuing and implementing the work plan for deepening the construction of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector. It will focus on seven major areas and explore 56 specific tasks with innovative approaches. All tasks have made phased progress.
To expand international cooperation, policies of Beijing E-Town on supporting high-quality development of foreign-invested enterprises were officially issued last year.
These policies offer up to 100 million yuan ($13.80 million) in support for establishing multinational company headquarters and foreign R&D centers.
Recently, policies regarding the recognition of foreign headquarters enterprises and the establishment of foreign R&D centers have been implemented for the first time.
Furthermore, E-Town has carried out special actions such as open days for foreign enterprises, roundtable forums, and outbound trade services.
A hotline for foreign enterprises and international talents has also been launched.
