Beijing E-Town hosts Symposium on China-UK Biomedical Exchange 2024

The Symposium on China-UK Biomedical Exchange 2024 was held in Beijing E-Town on June 27. 

With the theme of "Cooperative Dialogue, Win-win Development," the forum was co-hosted by the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Administrative Committee and the UK 48 Group Club.

During the cooperation signing ceremony, Kong Lei, director of the Beijing E-Town Administrative Committee, and Jack Perry, representing the UK 48 Group Club, signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

According to the agreement, the two parties will leverage the global capital platform and international advantages of the UK 48 Group Club, focusing on the industrial layout of Beijing E-Town. 

They will engage in comprehensive cooperation in establishing cooperation funds, incubating enterprises, setting up main institutions, and organizing industrial summit forums. 

Additionally, LEC Global Capital and the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

In her speech, Liu Meiying, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing Municipal Government, expressed hope that the in-depth cooperation between the UK 48 Group Club and Beijing E-Town would further deepen exchanges and cooperation between Beijing and various sectors in the UK.

Jack Perry, chairman of the UK 48 Group Club, expressed gratitude for the strong support from Beijing E-Town. He affirmed that the 48 Group Club will work with Beijing E-Town to advance cooperation in the biopharmaceutical field, accelerate the development of new therapies and technologies, and promote the implementation of innovative treatments and medicines.

Zhang Qiang, secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Beijing E-Town, emphasized the long-standing and renewed cooperation between China and the UK. 

He added that this exchange event would serve as an opportunity to further connect the advantageous resources of both countries and engage in comprehensive cooperation in areas such as industrial funds, platform incubation, and project exchanges.
