Beijing E-Town to promote the development of productive service industry

The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) recently released the 12 Measures for Productive Service Industries to facilitate its construction of a hub for the integration of digital and substantial economies.

According to the measures, Beijing E-Town intends to focus on the trends of innovation in new-generation information technology and the demand for key core technologies that are independently controllable, prioritizing the development of information services such as artificial intelligence, industrial software, cybersecurity, integrated circuit design, blockchain, big data and quantum technology.

Over the years, Beijing E-Town has gathered more than 2,500 enterprises in the field of new-generation information technology. With the advantages of having the national information technology application innovation park, it has brought together over 90 percent of the top information technology companies in the country, with an integrated industrial chain and a basic independent system in place.

In the first half of this year, the revenue of the information service industry in Beijing E-Town reached 45.57 billion yuan ($7.13 billion), a 12 percent year-on-year increase, making it the second-largest pillar industry in Beijing E-Town after the industrial sector. The release of the 12 Measures for Productive Service Industries will continue to provide new momentum for the industry's development, helping to boost the rapid growth of the information service industry of Beijing E-Town.
