During the just-concluded 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), plans to establish the Beijing E-Town Comprehensive Bonded Zone in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) were announced.
This zone will be the first in China to focus on the development of new quality productive forces, to integrate advanced high-tech scenarios, and to adopt a green and ecologically integrated industrial-urban model.
Upon its establishment, the zone attracted a first group of 21 companies to sign agreements to settle there.
To attract more high-quality domestic and foreign enterprises with strong upstream and downstream industry connections to establish a presence in the zone, Beijing E-Town also conducted consultations and negotiations on the "Beijing Day" held during the 2024 CIFTIS. The staff provided detailed introductions on industrial ecology and policy services of E-Town to companies seeking advice.
Beijing E-Town has attracted over 1,300 foreign-funded enterprises from more than 62 countries and regions, with 103 Fortune Global 500 companies investing in 158 projects. Leveraging the international platform of CIFTIS and the new opportunities brought by the comprehensive bonded zone, Beijing E-Town will further promote the integrated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
"The first group of 21 companies has signed agreements to settle in the Beijing E-Town Comprehensive Bonded Zone, with 103 reserve companies and 43 prospective companies. In line with the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, we will advance in-depth cooperation with Tianjin Port, enhance pre-service support in the bonded zone, and explore services such as autonomous vehicle transportation between the bonded zone and Tianjin Port," according to Beijing E-Town staff members.
