Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) is currently planning six major future industry demonstration zones and future characteristic industrial parks.
Based on its advantageous industrial resources, Beijing E-Town is promoting future information, health, manufacturing, energy, materials and space industries.
According to Kong Lei, director of the Management Committee of the Beijing E-Town, the area has a solid development foundation in 9 of the 20 subdivided fields of future industries.
In the commercial aerospace sector, E-Town has gathered over 50 commercial aerospace companies, with private rocket assembly and manufacturing companies accounting for over 70 percent nationwide.
Regarding the health sector, E-Town has supported the growth of companies developing gene therapy products and gene sequencing technologies.
As for humanoid robots, E-Town backs projects such as the headquarters of UBTech humanoid robots and the demonstration project of Xiaomi robots. By establishing the Beijing Intelligent Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and the Beijing Robot Industry Park, it aims to further maintain a leading edge in the field of robotics.
In addition, Beijing E-Town is looking at future emerging industries in the early stages of development, such as the sixth generation mobile communication, quantum information, brain science and brain-machine interface, synthetic biology, new energy storage and new generation of biomedical materials.
In the future, Beijing E-Town intends to further strengthen international cooperation and exchanges, build a hub for future industrial innovation, and guide future industries towards specialization, precision and internationalization.
