Over 10 international and domestic 'firsts' debut at ICV exhibition

The 2024 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference (WICV) opened in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Oct 17.

The China International New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles Exhibition and the 2024 National Intelligent Driving Test Competition (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) were held concurrently, with 252 intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) companies worldwide showcasing their latest technologies, products, and applications, making the exhibition the largest in terms of scale, exhibition design, and achievements compared to previous sessions.

As the host of the event, Beijing E-Town has become a leading innovation hub for China's autonomous driving industry, with over 40 companies based in the zone presenting more than 10 international or domestic pioneering products or solutions.

Xiaomi SU7

Positioned as a C-class luxury sedan, Xiaomi SU7 series remains popular. According to a staff member of Xiaomi, the Xiaomi SU7 MAX is equipped with the Xiaomi Super Motor V6s, featuring dual-motor all-wheel drive with a maximum horsepower of up to 673 PS. It also incorporates Xiaomi's in-house developed intelligent driving technology, enabling functions such as urban navigation on autopilot and intelligent parking assistance. This marks the first global application of Xiaomi's end-to-end perception-decision large model in a mass-produced vehicle.

CATL's super hybrid battery

In the field of new energy vehicle power batteries, CATL showcased its industry-leading products such as the super hybrid battery, Shenxing plus battery, and Qilin battery. As a global leader in power batteries, CATL has held the top spot in global market share for power batteries for seven consecutive years, making it the only battery manufacturer worldwide with a market share exceeding 30 percent. Its first battery factory in the North China region commenced its construction in June in Beijing E-Town, and will support Beijing’s new energy vehicle manufacturers once it enters into operation in 2026.

SemiDrive's AI cabin

As for the key core components for ICV, SemiDrive has revealed its AI cabin, while Huixi Intelligence has brought its first high-performance intelligent driving chip product.

In addition, a versatile intelligent autonomous driving solution tailored for urban scenarios independently developed by IAT Automobile Technology; a panoramic head-up display product, a futuristic high-tech innovation for the entire vehicle, from FUTURUS; and a self-driving minibus with multiple functions, have all debuted at the exhibition.

Beijing E-Town has become a leading innovation hub for China's autonomous driving industry, as well as the preferred destination for the launch of new products, technologies, and business models by ICV enterprises. With more than 120 ICV companies, Beijing E-Town is leading domestically in terms of its innovation capabilities in key core components research and manufacturing fields, such as automotive design, manufacturing, chips, intelligent cabins, and intelligent chassis.
