The first domestic full solid-state lithium battery production line, financed and built by the Beijing Pure Lithium New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in Beijing E-Town, has recently begun its operations.
The independently developed full solid-state lithium batteries convert liquid electrolyte inside lithium batteries into solid electrolytes, resolving the inherent risks of flammability and explosion in traditional lithium batteries. These batteries have advantages such as safety, high efficiency, long durability and low cost, and can be applied in energy storage and in powering electric vehicles.

In advancing the process of industrializing the innovative laboratory achievements, the company first completed small-scale trial production in Beijing E-Town.
Zhou Linlu, the company's vice-general manager, said, "By establishing a small trial production line and gradually debugging, we have overcome problems in the production process of solid-state battery cells, solved industry technical challenges such as scaling up the preparation of solid-state electrolytes and stabilizing the interface contact between solid-state electrolytes and electrodes, reduced costs and enabled mass production of products."
The target production capacity of the production line is currently 200 megawatt-hours, equivalent to charging 200,000 electric two-wheelers simultaneously. Once at full capacity, it will be able to make several thousand solid-state lithium batteries per day.
"Solid-state batteries are one of the important directions for the development of next-generation energy storage technologies. We will continue to increase our innovation efforts, accelerate cooperation with industry-leading companies in energy storage, low-speed power and other application areas in order to achieve the implementation of demonstration projects and promote them more widely," Zhou said.
