LinaTech has recently held a press conference in Beijing announcing its decision to settle its headquarters and a major project in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).
According to its plan, LinaTech would relocate its headquarters to Beijing E-Town and launch its high-end medical linear accelerator headquarters and industrialization base project on the day of the press conference. With a total investment of 170 million yuan ($23.48 million), the project is expected to reach full production capacity by 2028.
"Beijing E-Town boasts a first-class industrial ecosystem and a comprehensive support system in the field of medical and health care. This is a key reason why we chose to locate our headquarters and projects here," said a representative from LinaTech. Founded in 1995 in Silicon Valley, the United States, LinaTech specializes in the research, development, production, sales, and service of radiotherapy equipment.
LinaTech has a comprehensive product layout that includes key components, subsystems, and complete end machines, and holds 12 medical device registration certificates. Among its core products, the standard version medical electronic linear accelerator VenusX, which holds independent intellectual property rights in both China and the United States, was included in the National Medical Products Administration's special review procedure for innovative medical devices in 2020 and has been approved for market release in both countries. The upgraded linear accelerator Venus Plus and the large-aperture intelligent CT, which are currently under development, are expected to be approved for market release by the end of this year. The advanced tumor radiotherapy robot SuperX is expected to be approved for market release in 2026.
The construction area of the high-end medical linear accelerator headquarters and industrialization base project launched this time is nearly 5,000 square meters, with a total investment of 170 million yuan. It will include a research and development line, a production line, and an office area for medical electronic linear accelerators.
Beijing E-Town has consistently promoted the development of the domestic high-end medical equipment industry, optimizing and improving the industrial structure traditionally dominated by leading foreign companies, and enhancing technological innovation and market competitiveness.
Beijing E-Town focuses on the seven key areas of therapeutic equipment, including precision radiotherapy equipment, high-efficiency ultrasound, current, magnetic field, laser, and interventional equipment, fostering a number of well-known enterprises. The launch and construction of this project will fill the technological gap in the field of domestic medical linear accelerators in Beijing E-Town, enhancing the resilience and competitiveness of the value chain and promoting more "Beijing E-Town Intelligent Manufacturing" to enter the global market.
