"Esports+" industry prospers in Beijing E-Town

The China Esports Festival Super Champion Cup kicks off at the Beijing Intelligent Esports Contest Center

The China Esports Festival Super Champion Cup kicked off at the Beijing Intelligent Esports Contest Center in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Dec 19.

Being the first national "esports+" event to integrate professional esports competitions, virtual reality interaction, and innovative consumer scenarios, it has brought representatives from the gaming esports industry, entrepreneurs, esports teams, and some esports enthusiasts together to explore and promote new paths for the flourishing development of the esports industry in the capital.

The opening ceremony of the event released a series of special policies for innovation in and the development of E-Town’s gaming esports industry, as well as the planning of an E-Sports Park.

The sandbox of E-Sports Park

By the end of 2027, Beijing E-Town aims to nurture a group of leading companies in the gaming esports industrial chain, including some of national influence in research and development, equipment, event operation, and content services.

Meanwhile, multiple high-impact domestic and international top-tier esports events will settle in the area with the establishment of renowned esports club teams.

The opening ceremony also released the industry promotion achievement of Best of Esports, an esports advanced alliance established by BOE and JD.

Meanwhile, the Esports Talent Ability Assessment Center jointly created by JD Gaming and JD Health made its grand debut.

This center is equipped with such functions as esports player selection, professional certification evaluation, and big data assessment. It is dedicated to accurately identifying individuals with esports potential through interactive experiences in esports scenarios, providing them with scientific and systematic assessment and guidance. It aims to establish a solid bridge to the professional esports stage, nurturing esports players, coaches, event operators, and other professional talents, injecting a continuous stream of new energy into the development of the esports industry.

Lasting from December 18 to 22, the China Esports Festival Super Champion Cup contains three esports competitions, namely, League of Legends, Honor of Kings, and CS2, five experiential spaces, as well as a fan meeting.

Currently, Beijing E-Town has gradually formed a cluster effect in various sectors, ranging from esports game development, esports event operations, to game content distribution, and marketing services. High-tech audiovisual and esports gaming industries are flourishing in the area, forming an advanced cultural industry system.
