The 2025 Hurun Future Unicorns Global Gazelles Conference was held in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Jan 8.

The conference released three important lists -- Hurun Future Unicorns – Global Gazelles Index 2024, 2024 Hurun China Artificial Intelligence Enterprises Top 50, and Beijing E-Town·2024 Hurun Seed Unicorn Gazelles – offering a comprehensive view of new trends in global and Chinese innovation and entrepreneurship.

More than 20 enterprises in the Beijing E-Town were listed, fully demonstrating the region's strong innovation vitality and industrial development potential.

The Hurun Future Unicorns Global Gazelles Index 2024 was released in Beijing for the first time by Hurun Report. A total of 803 companies worldwide made the list, with 55 of them based in Beijing, placing the city third globally in the number of unicorn companies.

The term "future unicorns global gazelles" refers to high-growth entrepreneurial companies established globally after the year 2000 whose valuations range from $500 million to $1 billion. They are expected to rapidly grow to unicorn status within three years.

Longwood Valley Medtech and four other enterprises based in Beijing E-Town made the list.

The inaugural "2024 Hurun China Artificial Intelligence Enterprises Top 50" list released by Hurun Report focuses on Chinese enterprises that demonstrate outstanding performance in AI computing power or algorithms, showcasing the leading forces in China's AI industry. Beijing leads with 20 companies on the list.

Beijing E-Town, a standout in China's high-tech manufacturing industry development policies and business environment, has collaborated with the Hurun Report to release the "Beijing E-Town·2024 Hurun Seed Unicorn Gazelles" list, selecting 20 high-potential startup enterprises with national-level honors or that have received Series A funding or above in the past two years.

These enterprises are expected to grow rapidly in the coming years, making it to the list of Hurun Future Unicorns Global Gazelles Index and becoming new engines driving regional economic development and industrial upgrading.

The selected seed gazelle enterprises cover various cutting-edge technology fields, including smart hardware, biomedicine, new energy and new materials.
