Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) presented nine major robot application scenarios in an event on Feb 28 to promote the industrial transition to robot technology in the area.
During the event, the humanoid "Tiangong" robot unveiled a list of nine benchmark scenarios for robot applications.
According to Beijing E-Town, over 10,000 robots worth nearly 5 billion yuan ($685.93 million) are expected to be put into use within two years.
Additionally, E-Town announced specific demands for benchmark demonstration scenarios in areas such as care for the elderly, healthcare and landscaping, providing a broader stage for the application of robot technology.
Over a dozen robot companies signed agreements to accomodate the demand side of robots application scenarios, giving strong momentum to the widespread application of robot technology across multiple fields.
The release of the demand for the nine major application scenarios will further attract more robot companies to come to Beijing E-Town for data collection, real-scenario training and large-scale applications.
Beijing E-Town, an important hub for the robot industry in Beijing, has more than 140 robot ecosystem companies with an output value of nearly 10 billion yuan, accounting for about half of the city's total, forming a complete robot industry chain system covering core components, complete machines and applications.
