Ponovo, a company specializing in electrical field testing equipment, has filled the gap in the domestic high-end testing equipment sector with its self-developed, high-performance SiC grid simulator and related products and is receiving a steady stream of orders.

In recent years, with the increasing integration of electricity generated by new energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics into the grid, the demand for high-performance SiC grid simulators in new power system applications has also risen.

Compared with stable currents from traditional energy sources, new power systems need to accommodate the integration of unstable energy sources, such as excessive electricity generation during peak periods and insufficient generation during off-peak periods. This requires the coordination of grid-type energy routers to stabilize and integrate electricity into the grid. High-performance SiC grid simulators play a crucial role in detecting whether grid-type energy routers meet standards and assessing their performance.

Previously, high-performance SiC grid simulators in China were mainly monopolized by foreign companies.

After two years of effort, Ponovo has overcome the challenges -- such as high switching frequency, low power consumption, overload resistance and software control -- to develop a high-performance SiC grid simulator with a maximum power of up to MW level. This product can be used for testing in new power systems, but also widely applied in industries such as aerospace, new energy vehicles, rail transportation, microgrids and more.

Ponovo's President Chen Wei said the company intends focus on the research and development of core products such as grid simulators and grid secondary testing equipment, make efforts to expand into markets in the fields of power grids, new energy vehicles, semiconductors, aerospace, and other areas, and use high-end testing equipment to drive high-quality development of the industry.
