An Australian delegation visits Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area to explore the autonomous driving technologies.
An Australian delegation recently toured the Beijing High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Innovation Operation Center in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) to learn about its rich experience in autonomous driving and green transformation.
Upon entering the Innovation Operation Center exhibition hall, the delegates were captivated by a series of innovative achievements shown in a promotional video.
The Beijing High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone, established in September 2020, has built a city-level engineering test platform covering the five major systems of "vehicle, road, cloud, network and map". The zone continuously introduces and upgrades autonomous driving technology, supporting the implementation of demonstrations for eight major categories of autonomous driving scenarios, including Robotaxi, unmanned shuttles, unmanned retail and unmanned delivery.
The delegation´s members also boarded an intelligent connected passenger bus and experienced firsthand the novelty and convenience of autonomous driving. The vehicle´s display screen continuously updated information such as driving speed and surrounding road conditions.
"It's amazing!" said a member of the delegation. "The speed of development in autonomous driving in China is astonishing. We look forward to further strengthening cooperation in the future to jointly promote the convenience and safety of global transportation."
The visit of the Australian delegation signifies not only acknowledgment of the Beijing High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone's achievements but also establishes a new bridge for deep communication and cooperation between China and Australia in the field of autonomous driving.
Beijing E-Town will continue to promote the development of autonomous driving technology and the application of intelligent connected vehicles, steadfastly implementing the "Chinese solution" of autonomous driving vehicle-road coordination.
