A Laotian delegation has recently visited the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town), experiencing the cutting-edge applications of autonomous driving technology.

During the visit, the delegation went to the Beijing High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Innovation Operation Center in Beijing E-Town, where they took a test ride in an intelligent connected passenger bus, experiencing up close the innovative achievements in the field of intelligent connected vehicles.

A staff of the center gave the Laotian delegation a detailed introduction to the innovative development of the high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone in Beijing.

"Currently, the demonstration zone supports the implementation of eight major types of autonomous driving scenarios and has issued temporary license plates for road testing to 931 vehicles from 34 companies such as Pony.ai and Neolix, with vehicles collectively covering over 35 million kilometers in road testing," said the staff.

The high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone has established a multidimensional support system encompassing policy support, financial assistance, talent development, and testing environments, continuously striving to provide an excellent business environment for intelligent connected vehicle companies.

"The development achievements of Beijing E-Town in this field are truly impressive, not only possessing a comprehensive testing system but also having a clear development plan. The future of autonomous driving may be closer than we imagine," said a member of the delegation.

After the tour, the delegation also took a test ride in an intelligent connected passenger bus. As the vehicle slowly started moving, the screens inside the bus displayed real-time information about the surrounding road environment, pedestrians, and traffic signals. The delegation members personally experienced the significant advantages of intelligent connected technology in enhancing driving safety and efficiency.

This visit has not only allowed the Laotian delegation to learn the development achievements in autonomous driving technology in Beijing E-Town but also further strengthened international exchanges between the two sides in the field of intelligent connected vehicles. In the future, Beijing E-Town will share its latest achievements in autonomous driving technology and work together with multiple sides to propel the global intelligent transportation industry to a higher level.
