More than 80 diplomats and officials from nearly 30 countries, including Cape Verde, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Japan, attended Saturday's half-marathon in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).

The world's first humanoid robot half-marathon also took place at the Nanhaizi Park on Saturday alongside the half-marathon.

The racecourse connected the technological landmarks and natural landscapes of Beijing E-Town. Participants could experience the beauty of the natural ecology while running together with humanoid robots, playing the future movement of the integration of technology and sports.

In the morning, nearly 20 foreign diplomats stationed in China, dressed in blue and green racing suits, warmed up with other participants, showing their eagerness for this marathon event. As the starting gun sounded, they measured the vibrant land of E-Town with their footsteps, feeling the city's vitality.

"The robot marathon is being held for the first time in China and also for the first time worldwide. As the Ambassador of Cape Verde, participating in this event is a completely new experience for me. High technology represents the present and also foretells the future development. Although Cape Verde is a small country, it is beginning to focus on enhancing and strengthening its development in the digital economy. In the future, Cape Verde hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in related fields. The development in the field of robotics is beneficial for the entire world," said Arlindo do Rosário, Ambassador of the Republic of Cape Verde to China.

A "future technology showcase" awaited runners at the finish line at the National Information Technology Application Innovation Park. There, robots made tea, served coffee, made pancakes and danced for the impressed diplomats.

Also on Saturday, the diplomats visited the Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Innovation Operations Center, where a demonstration of the Vehicle-Road Cloud Integrated System allowed them to observe how "smart vehicles" navigate on "intelligent roads". To cap off the visit, the diplomats also took a spin in autonomous driving cars.

The collision of technology and humanities, guided by innovation, paints a grand picture. This international exchange event, blending competitive passion and technological charm, has drawn more international attention to Beijing E-Town, continuously expanding the area’s depth and breadth of international cooperation, and enabling people walking hand in hand on the path of technological innovation.
