Foreign media outlets visit Beijing E-Town

The "Face-to-Face with Robots" salon event was held in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on May 16. More than 50 journalists from over 25 foreign media outlets such as Reuters and the Financial Times visited Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and Robot World in the area, experiencing up close the innovative vitality of E-Town.

Harmonious coexistence of human and robot in the future

At the event, when Tiangong Ultra started with a smooth gait, the onlooking foreign media journalists couldn't help but exclaim. Several curious participants ran side by side with this "steel runner".

Not long ago, the world's first humanoid robot half marathon was held in Beijing E-Town, where Tiangong Ultra emerged as the champion. This robot, standing at approximately 1.8 meters tall and weighing around 55 kilograms, is an upgraded version of the country's first general-purpose robot platform, "Tiangong". It has not only been further optimized in terms of its physical structure but also equipped with the general-purpose intelligent platform, which makes it smarter and more agile. Today, Tiangong Ultra can adapt well to real outdoor environments such as turns, slopes, and rough terrain, running more steadily and farther.

The leap from the laboratory to the real world

In the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, foreign journalists glimpsed the mystery behind the birth of Tiangong Ultra. Here, they gained an understanding of the development process of embodied intelligent robots and the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, delving into the full chain innovation breakthrough from core components to complete system, and then to a universal embodied intelligent platform.

In the Robot World, journalists saw more possibilities for the future. As the first comprehensive robot exhibition center in the country, Robot World showcases five major scenarios including home life, bionic animals, remote operation, medical care integration, and industrial manufacturing. Additionally, it presents a ten-year retrospective exhibition of the World Robot Conference. Through the format of "robot exhibition + application experience", it has showcased the latest technologies, products, applications, and innovations in various fields to foreign journalists.

Accelerating the construction of a national hub for the robotics industry

During a close-up visit and interaction, foreign media journalists gained a better understanding of the innovative ecosystem in Beijing E-Town.

To date, Beijing E-Town has already gathered over 300 robotics and intelligent manufacturing ecosystem companies, establishing a core component with humanoid robot, industrial robot, special robot, medical robot, collaborative robot, and logistics robot industry system. The scale of the robotics industry chain exceeds 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion), accounting for half of the total in the city, making it an important robotics industry cluster in Beijing and the permanent venue for the World Robot Conference.

In the next two years, over 10,000 robots will be deployed in nine major benchmark scenarios in E-Town, including factories, schools, hospitals, and more places. At the World Robot Conference to be held in E-Town in August this year, more humanoid robot new technologies, achievements, and applications will be showcased, providing a "Chinese solution" for human-machine collaboration in the era of intelligence.
