Humanoid robot Walker S2 launches autonomous battery swapping

UBTECH, the company behind the humanoid robot headquarters in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) has unveiled a groundbreaking feature in their latest industrial humanoid robot Walker S2. This innovation marks the world's first implementation of a hot-swappable autonomous battery exchange system for humanoid robots.

The humanoid robot's hot-swappable autonomous battery exchange system features three core highlights: original dual-battery power balance technology, standardized quick-change battery compartment technology, and dual-arm coordinated precise battery exchange technology.

As a groundbreaking technology, the core of this system lies in enabling the robot to autonomously replace its batteries without the need for shutdown or human intervention.

In practical applications, the robot can autonomously choose to change batteries or recharge based on task priorities, thereby achieving dynamic energy management. The hot-swappable technology features physical isolation and rapid power-off mechanisms, providing protection against electric shock and explosions. Additionally, the dual-battery system seamlessly switches in case of a main battery failure, ensuring the execution of critical tasks, enabling redundant backup, and enhancing the safety and reliability of humanoid robots during factory operations.

This technology enables the Walker S2 to have a 24/7 uninterrupted working capability, laying the foundation for "never-stopping new productivity" in intelligent manufacturing.
