There is a dazzling array of robots tailored to elderly care needs at the 2025 Beijing Smart Health Care Robot Application Competition.

The 2025 Beijing Smart Health Care Robot Application Competition was held in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town) on Tuesday, showcasing 53 innovative products from 40 top teams as well as releasing IEC 63310 International Standard for Elderly Care Robots on site.

This competition, in conjunction with the 2025 World Robot Conference, aimed to accelerate the application of smart health care robots from technological innovation to practical implementation.

The urgent demand for healthcare robots in an aging society far exceeds the current level of technological supply. To address this supply-demand challenge, this event showcased new generation robot technologies and innovative application scenarios to promote the development of the smart healthcare and elderly care robot industry.

The competition focused on five key scenarios of rehabilitation training, nursing care, intelligent companionship, health monitoring, and public services in elderly care, attracting 40 teams from Beijing, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, and other regions across the country. These teams included leading enterprises, top universities, and research institutions as innovative entities. A total of 53 intelligent healthcare robot products were showcased, covering the entire industry chain from hardware manufacturing, software development to elderly care operations.

Among the 25 teams from Beijing, 10 teams are based in Beijing E-Town.

This event not only tested the technical capabilities of the supply side and showcased innovative achievements but also invited the demand side to participate. By allowing participating products to be showcased through roadshows, case studies, and cooperation negotiations, the event aimed to connect with real users such as elderly care institutions, medical facilities, and community elders. This approach has facilitated the realization of procurement and cooperation intentions, fostering partnerships and collaborations within the industry.

Currently, Beijing E-Town has gathered more than 300 robotics and intelligent manufacturing ecosystem companies, with the industrial chain scale exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.39 billion), dominating a significant portion of Beijing's robotics industry. In the field of intelligent elderly care robots, Beijing E-Town undertakes numerous national-level major research tasks, leads the formulation of multiple international and domestic standards for elderly care robots, and nurtures leading enterprises in areas such as emotional companionship and rehabilitation assistance. Breakthroughs have been achieved in specialized tracks such as intelligent nursing and safety monitoring, with some products already being used in clinical applications in medical institutions.
