2025 Openatom Open Source Eco-Conference kicks off in Beijing E-Town

The 2025 Openatom Open Source Eco-Conference opened in Beijing on July 23, unveiling a host of groundbreaking open-source advancements. Among the highlights was the inauguration of the "Source Creation Tribe," a pioneering physical incubator designed for small and medium-sized enterprises and startup teams within the open-source realm.

This innovative platform offers a range of essential services, including project incubation, startup support, community empowerment, and ecosystem development, reducing the threshold for open-source innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as unleashing the commercial potential of open-source technology.

Meanwhile, over 150 open-source project application cases from more than 100 organizations were released on-site. These cases spanned across key industries such as electricity, telecommunications, healthcare, education, finance, transportation, and more, which are crucial to the national economy and people's livelihoods. This showcased the powerful impact of open-source technology in promoting industrial upgrading and industry innovation.

Experts in the field discussed the overall development trend of open source in China in 2024, as well as data on domestic and international open-source projects and developers over the past three years. They provided insights on key directions such as open-source licenses, code hosting platforms, regional layouts of the open-source industry, key technological domains, industry applications, open-source security, open-source education and academia, and commercialization.

A total of 26 sub-forums and numerous exchange meetings were conducted at the event, providing ample opportunities for open-source partners and projects to engage in collaborative discussions, enabling various stakeholders to work together to empower the development of project communities and ecosystems.
