The 2025 XR Smart Terminal Industry Conference opened at the Tongming Lake Convention Center in Beijing E-Town on Nov 30. The event unveiled Beijing's first specialized policy for the XR smart terminal industry, launched the "Smart Glasses Industry Innovation Platform" and AI Sports International Open, signed agreements for eight key projects, and debuted five new XR smart terminal products, demonstrating the vibrant innovation capacity within the industry.
As XR (extended reality) technology rapidly integrates with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and 5G/6G, XR smart terminals are becoming key conduits between the real and virtual worlds. They are increasingly penetrating high-value fields such as industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and education and training, and are regarded as one of the ideal terminal forms for building the future society.
Against this backdrop, Beijing E-Town released, during the conference, the city's first specialized policy for the XR smart terminal industry—Several Measures of the Beijing E-Town for Promoting High-Quality Development of the XR Smart Terminal Industry. This policy aims to leverage devices, drive scenarios, and empower the ecosystem, to swiftly establish a comprehensive industrial chain system for XR smart terminals, covering hardware manufacturing, software development, content production, platform operation, and industry applications.
According to this policy, by 2028, Beijing E-Town aims to nurture over five leading enterprises, establish more than 10 industry-renowned terminal brands, and achieve comprehensive coverage in over 10 typical scenario application fields. The industry scale is expected to exceed 50 billion yuan ($7.07 billion), forming a world-class advanced manufacturing cluster in the XR smart terminal field characterized by independent and leading technology, high industry concentration, widespread industry applications, and a well-developed ecosystem.
At the main forum, the eight companies of Amlogic, Zhiyi Technology, Vijo Optoelectronics, Qianhai Wo'er, Honor the Unknown, Huoda Shijie, TechFish, and Lingxuan Technology, signed key XR project agreements with Beijing E-Town, covering various fields such as chips, materials, modules, terminals, and scenario applications, with a total cumulative investment of 3 billion yuan.
Additionally, five new XR smart terminal products were launched, including LLVision's Leion Hey2 professional AR translation glasses, JD's Rokid shopping glasses, the Open X2 Pro smart AI headphones of Qianhai Wo'er, RayNeo's Air 4 AR smart entertainment glasses, and Honor the Unknown's Bleeq up AI sports glasses. These products showcase the diverse application prospects of XR technology.
During the session of keynote reports and thematic speeches, several industry leaders and experts delivered presentations on XR applications in logistics, sports, film and television, urban security, and other scenarios. They vividly outlined the increasingly complete innovation landscape and development trajectory of the XR ecosystem.
