The Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area has a total of five tertiary-level medical and health institutions, forming an integrated medical service network that includes large public comprehensive (specialized) hospitals, high-quality private medical services, and community healthcare service institutions.
Within an area of approximately 60 square kilometers, there are a total of 116 medical and health institutions. Among them, there are five tertiary-level medical and health institutions (two State-owned), two secondary-level medical and health institutions (one State-owned), and one privately-owned primary-level medical and health institution. There are seven community health service stations and 101 other medical institutions, including 25 medical laboratories, 31 outpatient departments, 26 clinics, and 19 medical offices. The number of medical institution beds per thousand people is 6.4.
The area has established a district-level center for disease control and prevention, an emergency sub-center, and community health service centers, which have close collaborations with the various medical institutions in the area.
Furthermore, the area welcomes the relocation of Beijing Tongren Hospital's main campus and the construction of a new division of Beijing Children's Hospital, continually improving and perfecting the public health service system, elevating the accessibility and equity of basic public services, and building diverse models of medical service mechanisms.
